Fluke 1620 Series GEO Earth Ground Testers
The Fluke 1623 and 1625 are distinctive earth ground testers that can perform all four types of earth ground measurement. Specifically, the Fluke 1623 and 1625 testers are able to measure earth ground loop resistances using only clamps – called Stakeless testing. This method doesn’t require the use of earth ground stakes or the disconnection of ground rods.
Testing Methods
• 3- and 4-Pole Fall of Potential –
standard earth ground testing using
two ground stakes
• 4-Pole Soil Resistivity testing – determine
soil resistivity using four ground stakes
• Selective testing – without
disconnecting ground rods, a technician
can measure ground resistance using
a combination of stakes and a clamp.
• Stakeless testing – innovative solution
using only clamps, instead of ground
stakes, to measure earth ground
loop resistance.
Geo 30 Earth Ground Clamp (LEM)
The Geo 30 Earth Ground Clamp simplifies ground loop testing and enables non-intrusive leakage current measurement. The HEME Geo 30 indicates and measures True RMS current flow from a few µA up to 30 A. The HI/LO function can be used to quickly evaluate the measured value by comparing against upper and lower limits and a recording function allows storage of measured values.
The Geo 30 speeds and simplifies ground / earth testing for utility specialists and lightning protection installers.
• Ground loop resistance clamp
measurement without any disconnection
or additional ground rods
• Low level measurement of ground
leakage current without disconnection
for system troubleshooting
• Wide ac current measurement range up to
30 A with one instrument
Handy Geo Earth Ground Tester (LEM)
The Handy Geo Earth Ground Tester is a rugged, easy to use tester for three-pole ground resistance measurements and two-pole ac resistance measurements.
Earth Ground resistance is measured by installing Earth Ground test electrodes and testing with the Handy Geo. Earth Ground resistance measurements are used to ensure safe operation and reduce power quality problems. The Handy Geo is extremely lightweight making it ideal to test for lightning protection levels and periodic check-ups during routine maintenance.

Saturn Geo Plus Three and Four Pole Earth Ground Tester (LEM)
The Saturn GEO Plus Earth Ground Tester not only enables the measurement of ground resistance using the classic fall of potential test but also using the ‘selective’ and ‘stakeless’ methods. The ‘selective’ test does not require the electrode under test to be disconnected before measurement, unlike other methods. The ‘stakeless’ method is quick and simple and replaces stakes with current transformers (probes) that are clamped around the ground conductor under test. Both techniques make it faster and safer to test.
Earth ground resistance and resistivity should be measured when:
• Installing new ground systems and
electrical equipment
• Periodically testing ground and
lightning protection rods
• Prior to design of ground protection systems
• Conventional three and four pole earth
ground testing
Saturn Geo X Advanced Three and Four Pole Earth Ground Tester (LEM)
The Saturn Geo X Earth Ground Tester is ideal for measurement of ground resistance using the classic fall of potential test, as well as the ‘selective’ and ‘stakeless’ test. The ‘selective’ method does not require the electrode under test to be disconnected before measurement, unlike other methods. The ‘stakeless’ method is quick and simple and replaces stakes with current transformers (probes) that are clamped around the ground conductor under test. Both techniques make it faster and safer to test.
